The interface and screens through which people interact with and exchange information with computers

UI refers to the buttons, menus, text layouts, and other visual elements displayed on your smartphone or computer screen. It covers the entire look and feel of an app — everything designed so you can tell what to tap or click to get things done. It's the part that determines how easy the screen is to read and how comfortable the app is to use.
Behind the Name
User Interface. "User" means someone who uses something, and "interface" means a point of contact or boundary between two things. Put them together, and you get "the place where users meet the machine" — it refers to everything a person directly interacts with, from the visual layout of the screen to the placement of buttons.
Take a Closer Look!
UI refers to every element you see and interact with on screen when using a digital device or software.
This includes button placement, font style and size, color schemes, how menus open, and more — anything the user directly sees or interacts with is part of the UI.
For example, the app icons on your smartphone's home screen, the search box on a website, and the play button or volume slider on a video platform are all parts of the UI.
Physical devices like keyboards and mice can also be considered UI in a broader sense, but when people talk about UI in the context of websites and apps, they usually mean the visual design and interactive elements on screen.
A well-designed UI lets users navigate intuitively, without needing to read a manual.
On the flip side, even a feature-rich app can frustrate users if buttons are hard to find or text is too small to read.
That's why developers put serious thought into designing a UI that helps users accomplish what they need without getting confused.
