Intelligent Automation
Intelligent Automation
A system that combines AI with automation tools to handle even complex tasks automatically.
In Simple Terms
Intelligent Automation is a system that combines AI with business automation tools to handle complex tasks. Traditional automation basically just followed pre-set steps, but by adding AI's judgment, it can now handle work that requires deciding things — like reading documents or sorting data. It's used across a wide range of judgment-heavy tasks, from office work to customer support.
Behind the Name
The name blends "intelligent" and "automation" — automation smart enough to think, not just repeat steps. It's called that because AI technologies let it handle complex tasks that used to require a human's judgment, not just simple, repetitive ones.
Take a Closer Look!
Intelligent Automation is a system that connects AI's decision-making abilities with automation tools to keep entire workflows running smoothly.
Traditional automation could already run complex processes using rules and scripts, but it basically just followed pre-set steps.
Combining that with AI technologies like machine learning and natural language processing lets the system judge the content of information as it works, instead of just following a fixed script.
Intelligent Automation is built mainly from three roles working together: "AI", which recognizes, classifies, and judges data; "RPA", which handles routine tasks like screen operations and data entry; and "BPM", which controls the overall workflow and handoffs across people, departments, and systems.
For example, when processing a purchase order, AI reads and classifies the text, RPA enters the data into the system, and BPM manages routing and handoffs to the right department — together automating the whole process.
It's used in a wide range of fields that combine recognition, execution, and process control — from checking invoices to answering inquiries to detecting anomalies in data.
